João Paulo Pais de Almeida is Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, School of Technology and Management, Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and Researcher at CeDRI. As researcher, he also collaborates with LIAAD-INESC TEC. He is PhD in Applied Mathematics and MSc in Mathematics by University of Porto and BSc in Mathematics by University of Coimbra. João P. Almeida’s research focuses on Dynamical Systems and Game Theory, namely on renormalization in low dimensional dynamics, Anosov and pseudo-Anosov diffeomorphisms, models for R&D dynamics and models of spatial competition of firms. He is currently interested in the applications of Game Theory to Economics and Industrial Organisation, and in exploring connections from Dynamical Systems and Game Theory to industrial problems, deep learning and data science.
