News | 3rd Edition of the BIP on the Internet of Things brings together participants from four countries in Bragança.
3rd Edition of the BIP on the Internet of Things brings together participants from four countries in Bragança Between 15 and 19 June 2026, the 3rd edition of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on the Internet of Things (IoT) took place at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. This international initiative brought together 26 students and 6 lecturers from higher education institutions in Portugal, Spain, Germany and Poland. The programme combined an online phase, carried out over the preceding weeks, with a week of face-to-face sessions dedicated to practical activities, collaborative work and the sharing of knowledge amongst participants of different nationalities and academic backgrounds. During the face-to-face component, the students took part in laboratory activities related to IoT technologies, developed projects in international teams and presented the results obtained throughout the week. The programme also included a range of cultural and social activities, enabling participants to get to know the city of Bragança and its historical and cultural heritage better. Highlights of the activities included a visit to Bragança Castle, the Military Museum, the Iberian Museum of Masks and Costumes, and a guided tour of the city’s historic centre. The industry engagement component was complemented by a technical visit to FORVIA, giving participants an insight into the industrial context and the technological challenges associated with the automotive sector. This third edition provided yet another opportunity to promote international collaboration, the exchange of experiences and the development of technical and intercultural skills within an academic and multicultural environment.
