Advanced research is expected to develop innovative solutions that use instrumentation for the signal acquisition and conditioning, embedded systems and edge computing to acquire and process locally the data, aiming e.g., control or condition monitoring, combined with scalable data connectivity, e.g., using IoT technologies, to transmit and share data among distributed nodes.
