Sensing and Connectivity

The acquisition and collection of heterogeneous data generated by the growing number of connected devices, as part of the initial phase of the digitalization process, is crucial and challenging.


Advanced research is expected to develop innovative solutions that use instrumentation for the signal acquisition and conditioning, embedded systems and edge computing to acquire and process locally the data, aiming e.g., control or condition monitoring, combined with scalable data connectivity, e.g., using IoT technologies, to transmit and share data among distributed nodes. In such distributed environments, cyber-security plays an important role to ensure privacy and security.
