Alberto Pinto is a full professor at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto (Portugal). He is a researcher at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD-INESC TEC). Alberto Pinto currently serves as Series Editor in the prestigious Springer Monographs in Mathematics (SMM) series. He is the founder and co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Dynamics and Games, published by the American Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS). He was member of the Steering Committee of the European Science Foundation Research Networking Programme Probabilistic Methods in Non-Hyperbolic Dynamics (PRODYN). He served as Executive Coordinator of the Scientific Council for Exact Sciences and Engineering (2009-2010) at Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. He was President of CIM - International Centre for Mathematics(2011-2016) and currently serves as President of the General Assembly of CIM. Alberto Pinto started the series Springer Proceedings in Mathematics and Statistics and founded the CIM Series in Mathematical Sciences, both published by Springer. His areas of expertise are Dynamical Systems and Game Theory, with applications to economics, biology, sociology and physics. He co-authored the book Fine Structures of Hyperbolic Diffeomorphisms(SMM) and published more than one hundred papers in top international scientific journals.
