CeDRI Framework for Equality, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Ethical Responsibility, and Civic Engagement

Oct 5, 2024

CeDRI is committed to promoting a positive, healthy, and supportive environment, improving its members' physical and emotional well-being, and increasing their overall satisfaction at the workplace. By promoting Equality, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion within technical disciplines, CeDRI aims to create a more balanced, inclusive, and equitable research culture that advances innovation and considers its societal impact.

In line with CeDRI’s vision for the future challenges of science, technology and society, and the vital role scientists play in it, a Committee was appointed to promote EEDI perspectives, as well as principles of citizenship, critical thinking and ethical responsibility within its members. This is part of a strategic vision that recognizes the importance of embedding EEDI principles into the work of experts who traditionally focus on technical aspects.

The Committee is coordinated by Maria de Fátima Pacheco (Integrated member), and the Contact Point Rebeca Kalbermatter (PhD Student).

This vision highlights the need to broaden the scope of CeDRI’s traditional fields of expertise to consider human-centric values, ensuring that technological advancements benefit diverse groups and foster an inclusive environment.
