Maintenance 4.0

Maintenance 4.0 (Intelligent and Predictive Maintenance in Manufacturing Systems)

The project aims to develop integrated and intelligent solutions for industrial maintenance, aligned with Industry 4.0 principles, considering the following aspects are considered: i) advanced and online analysis of collected data for the earlier detection of failures, and ii) intelligent decision support systems to support technicians during the maintenance interventions. Maintenance 4.0 project constitutes a real world implementation of intelligent and predictive maintenance through the development of advanced data analytics applications, which will enable the reduction of the unplanned down times by predicting possible failures.

I4.0@TMAD (Promoção da Indústria 4.0 na Região de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro)

The I4.0@TMAD project has as main objective the promotion and incorporation of Industry 4.0 principles into sectors with significant regional relevance, such as agro-food, natural stone, environment and automotive components industries. This project aims to reduce the delay compared to other European regions in the adoption of these technologies and knowledge.

SILKHOUSE

This project aims to develop a smart microgrid based on renewable energy sources and in innovative technologies, as well as a monitoring system to integrate in the Casa da Seda ("House of Silk") of the Bragança Ciência Viva Centre. Among other renewable sources, the microgrid will integrate photovoltaic solar energy and a small hydro system, suitably integrated in the place where once there was a mill. The microgrid will also integrate an intelligent control and monitoring system, extended to the monitoring of several environment variables along the passage of the Fervença river through the city of Bragança. In addition to promoting future energetic sustainability, the project also aims to enhance the dissemination of science in Casa da Seda and to increase the potential for attracting visitors to the Bragança Ciência Viva Centre, as a point of interest on the route of the tourism in the region.

Development of the project and prototype of a Hospital bed electrically articulated

The project aims the development of distributed production control systems integrating process and quality control levels using multi-agent systems principles and self-adaptation procedures to support variation and fluctuation in processes and products.

S3IR - Reinforcement of security of software systems through reverse engineering methods, techniques and tools

The focus of this bilateral cooperation project is the study of software, using code analysis and program comprehension techniques, to cope with problems related to the security of computer applications. The proposed approaches are based on source code analysis to detect vulnerabilities, to produce alerts and to obfuscate code.
